NEW ON THE EASEL: White Fallow Deer, Oil on Canvas, 23" Round

Inspired by the beauty of the Fallow Deer I created this oil painting on round canvas.

White Stag... creature of ancient tales and gracious animal inhabiting our forests of today. 

It was difficult to find acceptable photo references online; as it seems that killing these amazing creatures for trophies is far more common then awe of their beauty...Sad. 

Thus said, this painting is not entirely realistic representation of the species but my vision of it's essence, which I depicted in its deep eyes and surreal antlers.  

It is part 1 of two paintings imagined and second one is coming soon. There is some little work to be done on this artwork to consider it finished but overall it is very close :)
