Anna's Hummingbird 12 x 12" acrylic on paper

 These little birds are incredibly ferocious defending "their" feeder!

Here at Pacific NW Coast we enjoy their presence year round :) and welcome arrival of smaller Rufous Hummingbirds in spring..they are like Magic...zooming around like little helicopters and chasing each other!

I painted this smaller work in acrylic trying to emulate characteristics of oil paint; depth and perceived texture turned quite nice.
